I'm Lauren and I run Fidget's Fidos.

I started out in the show world when I was only 11 years old, helping to groom and handle Lonbergers and Newfoundlands.

6 years ago I bought my very own show dog, a Miniature Schnauzer called Daisy, and Aida was soon to follow (you can meet them in the Salon). I began to groom friends dogs and quickly expanded, I began attending grooming seminars and classes, and have recently decided to work towards gaining my City and Guilds as well. I realised my true love lie in working with dogs - and a year later I opened my very own salon.

I decided to use all natural products after Daisy suffered a skin complaint from commercial dog food, and feel that the products used help the dogs have a happier, healthier and more holistic experience.

1. characterized by the belief that the parts of something are intimately interconnected and explicable only by reference to the whole.

   • MEDICINE

     characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the symptoms of a disease.

If we translate this into grooming, it is the belief and work ethic that the whole experience is important to the dog, not just the groom itself. For this reason I try to appeal to all the senses - calming essential oils and dog specific pheremones are used in the salon, and I play relaxing music to help with the sounds of the salon that can overwhelm a dog.
